Special Olympics Arizona is a nonprofit organization that empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition, and we couldn’t do it without our generous supporters. When you purchase a ticket for the raffle, you are helping Special Olympics Arizona continue to make a difference.
In Special Olympics, the athletes are the heart of the movement. The athletes not only have the opportunity to develop physical fitness and become competitive athletes, but through our support programs such as Athlete Leadership, Unified Sports and Healthy Athletes they gain the knowledge and resources to live a healthy lifestyle and evolve as leaders and important members of society.
At no cost to any athletes to join or participate, Special Olympics Arizona offers training and competition opportunities in Olympic-type sports, advocacy resources, health screenings and so much more for athletes 8 years or older. No matter what your ability level, you can benefit from Special Olympics. And no matter what your interest, there is a sport for you. There is no charge to participate in Special Olympics.
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
Special Olympics Arizona’s (SOAZ) goal is to empower the over 180,000 Arizonans with intellectual disabilities to be healthy, productive, and respected members of society through SOAZ’s year-round sports training, competitions, and support programs.
